Master bedroom/bathroom

Love the new master bedroom and bathroom colors.  The bathroom will have a beach theme.  I am super excited about the changes.  Thanks Allen for all of your hard work.

What's in store for tomorrow?

Did I mention the bathroom is also the same coloring?? Slowly but surely!

Painting, Painting, and MORE Painting!

Allen is probably dreaming in green after finishing the painting job in our vaulted great room. Happy Spring break....I mean Happy Spring work!

BEFORE:

AFTER:

You know you've been painting a lot when:
Porter starts trying to pick out colors for us!!

What to do with the BIG hooks?

I figured I had 2 options....

1. Make the hooks a time out place to hang the boys when they need it(did I mention the hooks can only be reached with a ladder?) Okay....maybe that would be a pain to keep the ladder out all the time!

2. Hang pictures of my cute baby boys!!  (this is what the previous owner did with the space) Now I need headshots of the older 2 boys.  The hooks are so high up on the wall that their pictures are hard to see.

You must live in UT when...

You go from playing outside with superheroes...
to playing in all of this wonderful SNOW in the same week!!

Happy Spring Break!
Not winter break....SPRING break right?

Poke-ee-Eyeball

Screwdrivers and eyes do not mix.  Quincy can now say in his sleep "Do we carry around and play with screwdrivers? NO!" Mom has been telling him that over and over for a day.
Yesterday Quincy poked himself in the eye with a screwdriver. We were super lucky that he only scratched his eye.  We'll go back to the eye doctor in a week to make sure there is no more damage.  Here is Quincy in his sunglasses and eyedrops from the dr.  Mom will be extra careful too because she saw him with it a few minutes before it happened and didn't take it away.
Bad mom!

We just had to get a photo of Porter with his favorite fuzzy blanket.  He loves to cuddle with it.  I just love how he lays out on it...so cute!

House Project #1...there are how many holes in the walls?

Well, we decided to have this conference weekend be a house project weekend.  We have lots of areas of the house to fill nail holes/touch up/paint.  We decided to start with the downstairs living area so we could unpack the desk/books etc...

BEFORE:
These pictures show the walls before we painted.  All of the white spots are places Allen filled nail holes or dinks in the walls.  In a couple of places the paint was literally peeling off the walls.  There is also an area on the left wall that had lots of bookcases on it when the last owners lived here and they painted around the bookcases...that's why there are 2 colors on that wall.  That was a surprise when we moved in! Also, the base board is missing along part of the one wall...another surprise!  All houses have them!

AFTER:
I think it all turned out really well.  Now seeing how good the walls look when we touch up, I am antsy to get to the rest of the house.  All in good time, considering most of the walls need to be done!
