Our family 2009

We have a family tradition of making a Bridal Veil Falls trip in the fall when the leaves are changing.  It was so pretty.  We decided to take some family photos while we were there.

Our family 2009

Miles at 6 years

Quincy at 3 years (almost 4)

Porter at 19 months

And here are the proud parents.  I had fun messing with this shot.

Thank you Andrea for taking some of our photos.  And the Beesleys for heading up the mountain with us.  The boys always have so much fun.

Good thing he's cute...

because it's been one of those weeks!!!!

Here's looking forward to a new week...

Harvest time

This is my first year of harvesting fruit from our own trees.  What fun!  We have enjoyed raspberries all summer long and grapes have been fun to eat too.  I canned 13 quarts of pears...and added a bazillion fruit flies to our home....uggggg!  I have canned 21 qts of peaches and made homemade peach ice cream,  and plan on doing freezer jam and cobbler too.  We are loving the fruit and excited to stock some away for wintertime.  The children have gotten into quite a bit of mischief while I've been busy canning, but hopefully this week will be less busy.

Oh yeah....and we love to eat the fruit right off the tree too....Porter grabbed this one while I was on the ladder picking fruit.  Hopefully there were no bugs etc...in it.  It was part gone by the time I noticed that he had one.  Boy does he love those peaches.  He tried really hard to eat the pit but alas he had to throw it! ( I think mom had to take it away and throw it actually)

yeah for fall harvesting time!!  Happy Fall everyone!

1st Grade Grandparent program

The first graders had a special program for their grandparents the other day and it was so much fun.  It was hilarious...Miles had to keep telling the chatty girl next to him to be quiet.

So this post is for all of his grandparents who missed the program because of living too far away.  Enjoy.  Sorry about the video quality.  Porter was "helping" me video this song.  Miles specifically wanted this song recorded.  I think it's because Allen sang this song when he was little too....crazy!

Are we obsessed with sports? Yeah, maybe!

We play all kinds of sports at our house...

We've never outgrown the Bulls thing...
OR Utah Jazz....okay really anything basketball.  They love playing on our outdoor hoop and Miles loves to play "PIG" right now.  Our rose bushes are going to have a farewell this weekend.  Too many balls are getting ruined!  Look how cute the boys are with their buddy from across the street.  Our bball boys!
I thought after having 2 ball boys right in a row that boy Matthews #3 would like something else....yeah right!  You should see how peeved PT gets when brothers don't give him his "turn" at the hoop.
Allen ran the Sp Fk 5K the other week and the boys ran a kids race too.  Good job boys!
oh yeah....how could I forget FOOTBALL!!!  This is our own version with our special helmets. (only because we don't have the real thing)  They love to play and tackle.  If you are Quincy, football is only good for the tackling aspect.  Go Big D!  Defense that is!

Porter turns 18 months!

I can't believe my Porter is 18 months old!  Wow, it goes so fast!  Porter is into everything and throwing very good 2 year old tantrums....ahhh so advanced :)  He talks very well and loves to play ball...baseball, basketball, whatever.  He also loves to carry around the flyswatter trying to get the flies.  He loves to swim at the pool...he is at the age where he tries to drown himself.  He is also our Pajama Thief...he loves to steal the boys jammies when they are showering and carry them around the house and put them on his head. (PT is no longer just for Porter Thomas)
He can sing the Imperial Death March song from Star Wars....don't know if I should be proud of that or not!  We love you Porter.  You are so fun!!
oh yeah...and mom and dad are very excited for church now.  He loved nursery on Sunday!
Since his buddy, Miles is at school all day now, Porter is learning to like his other brother, Kiki.
This picture cracks me up....he's happy but almost a bit nervous!  (I would be too!...look at Kiki's face)
Look how big he is getting.....

Does Miles like 1st grade?

Yeah, but boy does it tire him out!  This is him this morning at 7:45am when I had to go in and wake him up!  Poor kid!  He has always been my 6 am riser......that's how I know he is tired!
