Baby Girl Nursery

I am so excited about baby girl's room. The pictures definitely don't do it justice. Had a hard time capturing the room with my camera.

The colors are red, orange, pink, and blue. I bought 3 frames at Ikea. The middle frame says "All you need is Love", an idea from Etsy but costing $1 in paper vs. $30 to have someone make. The other 2 frames will have adorable pictures of baby and brothers.
Wonder woman picture is up! Of course, she would have some superhero in her room!! And my lamp sure looks nice with the colors of the room!! Yeah! The red frame on the dresser is from Target and you can't tell in the pic but it is "glittery". Super cute. Super cheap!
Ok, so the cute ruffle curtains need to be steamed....so the nursery is not complete I guess :) Made the layered pink striped frame...gotta love pinterest for the idea! Had to make sure blue was in the mix for the nursery since the rocker is blue!
This will be my final project for the room. Once baby girl is born, I will buy a big letter and vinyl the rest of the name in white on the red wall! (Ok, so I might've already bought the first letter...but it is not decorated yet...just in case we change our mind about the name...I can return it!!) The letter is huge, about 23 inches. Another super cute idea from pinterest. Here is the picture where the idea came from.

And this is where a picture of me with 4 weeks to go should go....just realized I forgot to have Allen take one...Ok, I'll do it! Can't wait to meet our little girl. She is quite the mover/shaker and good thing too. She'll need to be able to throw a few punches at her brothers! :)

He Loves me

I have really liked the dry erase board in Miles' room. I think he does too, but I love to write love notes to him when he's at school or sleeping. He pretty much rolls his eyes at me...especially if the note involves XOXOs. But one day this is what I found...

Had to take a picture to document it! :)

Our happenings lately...

So my wonderful friend, Jenn, said that for my baby "gift" from her she would help me work on the nursery. She volunteered her hubby to come put up the wainscot (he said there was nothing he would rather do...) and she helped me paint it and fix it up! Allen painted all of the red on the top portion of the wall...sorry about the nightmare color dear. Red is a tricky color to paint but I sure love the results! Pictures of finished nursery to follow...hopefully soon!

Quincy and Sam enjoyed playing together while their moms worked on the room!
It's still winter...we love dressing up. Got some Indiana Jones action the other day! Quite the break from our usual Batman get up!
Miles had a baseball tournament down in St. George, where it is a lot warmer than here! He is getting a lot more confident! He got lots of singles, a couple of doubles, and RBIs. Way to go Miles. Wish I could have been there to cheer you on! Their season starts in another month! That will be fun to watch! Quincy got to go down with Dad and Miles and enjoyed some time with Dad...he practiced his catching a lot since he will start Tball soon!
And 6 weeks till baby girl arrives! Had to get her SUPER outfit together so she can join our family. Thought it would be cute to put her in a Wonder Woman outfit for some newborn pics to put up with the boys Superman ones. Can't wait to meet her. Getting super antsy!!

Room Changes

PROJECTS...

We have started the process of moving all of the boys to different rooms to prepare for baby girl's arrival.
First, we moved Miles downstairs. The room was already painted green, his favorite color. Allen found a desk and dresser on KSL and painted them black. We just have to find a bed frame at some point and put curtains up.

As I look at this photo, it kind of looks like a shrine...LOL but it's his dresser with his 3 foul balls he got at last years Rockies game.
Didn't get a picture of it, but blew up a picture Allen took of the 3 boys looking up at the Provo Temple. Gotta get the Temple/Jesus pictures up too!!

Then, we started working on Miles' empty room....paint the ceiling, paint the walls grey (our compromise...boys wanted black for the Batcave) and made Porter and Quincy's room a Batman and Robin room!
Was thrilled to find this light cover!
Found a really cool old school comic cover turned poster of Batman and Robin swinging!
(it's rather hard to find Robin stuff) Plus put a few pics of them dressed up in their costumes.
Got navy Thermo curtains and had to make felt ties with the Bat signal and Robin logo on them. I finally got to put up a really cute saying that Aunt Tiffany made us for Christmas...
"Sometimes being a Brother is even better than being a Super Hero!"
The boys love to color and their old room had TONS of pictures covering their walls. Well, with the new paint job we told them NO tape on the walls...
should've known both sides of the door and closet doors would be covered within the hour!
But they did obey...the tape is not on the walls! Might have to buy a cork board for over their cool new desk! (Miles' old one...they are so excited)

2 rooms down....now we move onto the nursery! Phew! Allen has been a champ. I help prep the room, but he has been doing ALL the painting! I think after the nursery is done, Allen will be done with "PROJECTS" for awhile...
:)

Porter turns 4

Can't believe my Bobo turned 4 (well, 1 really since he is a leap day baby)! He was so incredibly excited for his special day and was SUPER patient to wait to celebrate till dad got home from work!

Raunchy Ronnie's for dinner (McDonalds....Porter's favorite place) gotta love Dad trying to be enthused about being there!
Batman and Robin cake....Robin is his favorite...I usually have to call him Dick during the day in order for him to acknowledge me.
Look how excited he is for presents! Those presents sat up there for most of the day and he didn't bother them at all...just kept looking at them!
Me and my boys
Porter loves Legos...Batman legos!
Mom turned his regular Bobo into a Robin bobo! He loves it!
A BIG boy stubby....superheroes! (hopefully we can ditch the baby blanket now)

Happy Happy Birthday to you Bobo! WE love you and you are such a special part of our family! Porter loves to play with his brothers and favorite friends, Blake and Jacob. He loves Robin and dresses up in costume frequently. He loves to draw and paint and play with play doh. He loves to cuddle and wrestle with dad on the bed. I am enjoying every minute with just me and him, since he will not be "the baby" for very much longer!
Happy #1 Bobo!
