I cannot believe that our last blog was in November. So much has happened in the last two months. Quincy turned 2 in November. We had a delightful Christmas. In about a 3 week time period we enjoyed the King Singers with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and the New York Voices. We made a quick trip in January to the Rexburg Temple Open House. Miles and Quincy continue to be so busy......if it's not there feet and hands that are in perpetual motion it's their mouths. Wow can they talk!
February has proven to be a great month---on the 29th (Leap Day) our 3rd son came into this wonderful world. Porter Thomas Matthews was born 7 lbs. 11 oz. and 21 inches long. We have had a wonderful couple of weeks with this new addition. Grandpa Hansen and Grandma Matthews have both come and helped. We are so grateful for there willingness to come and supervise, spend time, entertain and spoil Miles and Quincy. Miles has been very kind and tender with Porter. He frequently says that Porter is "such a cute little fella". When we allowed Quincy to hold Porter for the first time all he said was "Don't want, Don't want please! Don't want!"
Recently, I had the opportunity to conduct the Orem Institute Choir in the historic Salt Lake Tabernacle on Temple Square for the 200th Birthday Celebration of Samuel Harrison Smith. It was quite the endeavor to transport 350+ students from Orem to SLC, and then to stand on that podium and to perform in that venue. It was a great experience. Elder M. Russell Ballard spoke at the event and he complimented the choir and even gave us a couple of thumbs up.
