Happy Retirement visit!

Happy Retirement Dad and Rog!!!  My dad and 2nd mom(stepmom) Rog just retired early this summer!  They are taking a 3 month trip in their motorhome.  We loved being on their "route".  They stayed for almost a week...it was awesome!!! We usually get to see them for a day or two before they have to get back to work so it was really nice to be able to see them for more time.  They took Miles and Quincy on an overnight camping adventure.  Sorry PT, maybe next year you can go!
Dad helped us build food storage shelves in our basement storage room!  Thanks for all of the help dad.  I can't wait to fill them up!
Miles loves Grandpa Hansen.  They have so much fun together.
We are a brown eyed family...that is except for Miles.  He has gorgeous blue eyes.  He always used to ask where his eye color came from.  We'd tell him...from Grandpa Hansen.  He likes to look in Grandpa's eyes and see the color similarity.  Funny kid!
The only bad thing about having Grandpa and Grandma Hansen staying with us is....
when they leave.  Look at that face!

Thanks for the wonderful visit Dad and Rog.  Also, thanks to Grandpa Paul and Grandma Billie (my dad's parents) for visiting too!  We love you all!  Can't wait to see you all again.

Thanksgiving Point-The Gardens

During the month of August, every Tues is $2 to get into Thanksgiving Point Gardens or Dinosaur Museum, so this year we took our first trip to the gardens.  The boys had a great time.  I didn't get any pics of the children's garden--mazes and Noah's ark water play area.  The kids loved it!  So much that I just didn't get my camera out...I was chasing boys!

The waterfalls and flowers were beautiful.

Here they are getting back up the hill to roll down again!  They loved it...and they loved "helping" Porter! (I had to stop their helping when I thought his arm sockets were in trouble)

They had a building area and music area for the kids too.  So much to do.  and the boys had tons of fun.  We were super hot, so I recommend going early or late to avoid roasting!
Well worth our $8!!

Hiking the Grotto

For FHE this week, we hiked up the Grotto.  Super easy hike...perfect for small children.  The boys absolutely love to hike.  Miles is asking for a Camelpak for Christmas.  Well, they are really cool...I've never had one.  I'd rather get him that than a cell phone...another request this past week.  Good luck with that one buddy boy. We even saw a few deer driving up there and it's just beautiful.

I absolutely love this shot.  The water is freezing...can you tell?
Me and my boys!!....well, half of my boys!

Zoo trip

Had to get a Zoo trip in this summer...of course we went during the week that was over 100 degrees....uggg.  But the boys loved seeing the animals...the ones that were awake that is.

Porter's highlight was the "bobos" or monkeys.  He loves "bobos".

Camping with dad

Mom stayed home with Porter this trip, but the older 2 had a great time with dad camping out.
Cooking hotdogs and marshmallows over the fire, lots of dirt and hiking...what more could a little boy ask for!!
Love the bear sign and bathroom pics!!

I love a good hug shot of my boys!!  Love it!

Look familiar dad?

This post is just for my dad.  Yes, I know you are laughing dad.  It's all coming back to me now!
This is what happens when Porter is alone for a few minutes and is silent.  oops!
P.s. washable markers are not really washable!  just kind of.
