You can't stop "THE FORCE"

I have to tell you...I absolutely love Star Wars.  You know...the old original Star Wars movies.  But I have thought my boys were too young to be watching those movies yet.  Well, this doesn't stop Miles from making Star Wars creations!

In case you couldn't tell, Quincy is Darth Vader...the mask, cape, and RED light saber.
Miles wanted to be Luke.  Good choice Miles.
When we first moved into the new house, The Return of the Jedi was on, and I let the boys watch it. They absolutely loved it.  It was fun to show them that Darth Vader makes a good choice at the end of the movie and becomes a good guy.  So maybe the boys will get to be a little more into Star Wars now.  Mom is learning to loosen up! A little!

Ps. We might have a bit too much time on our hands now that our church is at 1pm!

You say goodbye, I say hello...Our van experience!

Okay...so here is the Goodbye van story.
I was waiting for a train.  (I should say that when I wait for a train I usually stop a few car lengths behind the next car) So we were watching for the train and the BIG truck in front of me starting to get impatient and wanted to flip a U turn rather than wait for the train.  He says he didn't see me and he backed up really fast and smashed right into the front of our van.  I honked 3 times and I saw it coming and it was in major slow motion.  The boys were screaming and I was shocked...but also super glad it wasn't my fault.  I didn't think that they would total the van and that we would get to fork over our own money to get something else.

Look how nice the van still looks from the rear!
So it doesn't look THAT bad right?  well the guy's insurance wouldn't pay to have it fixed because the repairs were more than the van is worth.  bummer!  We test drove a lot of vans that were "similar" to our old van and we realized how good of shape our old van was in.  sniff sniff. So we got to put lots of money plus the insurance money into a newer van.

Ta Da!  Yeah...I know.  I looks like...well....a van!
It's a Pontiac Montana.  We like how it drives more like a car than a van.  and it will be nice to have the DVD player for long trips.  But what an ordeal.  Especially in the same week as signing on a new house!

Our new house!!

Here it is!  We are finally moved in...well kind of.  We want to paint the downstairs before we unpack books etc...But we are enjoying the new home.  It's a rambler, which is really nice.  It's a corner lot and very spacious.  We will be working in the yard a lot this summer.
HERE ARE A FEW PICS...

The formal sitting room when you first walk in the front door.
My favorite area of the house.  The kitchen/family room.  The hardwood floors remind me of our first apartment in Greeley Colorado.  The kitchen is gorgeous!
Porter's bedroom....just kidding.  There is a huge cabinet where I keep some toys for him to play with while I am working in the kitchen.  He can get in it comfortably!
Downstairs family room/den
downstairs hallway
Yeah...we actually have a toy room now.
What do the boys think of all of the changes?  They are adjusting and Porter has finally stopped screaming...he was getting super nervous with us packing up the other house.  Miles loves his new school and kindergarten class.  What do the boys think of the new house?

As long as there is this....
THEY LOVE IT!

Once I find the cable...

Hi there all!  Blog entries are better with pictures, so as soon as I find the cable to connect the camera to the computer I have a few blog posts to catch up on.
We moved into a new house this past weekend (pics will come soon)
Our van got totaled (pics coming)
Our phone died in the move so our new home phone still doesn't work, but as you can see, internet is up and running! (yipee!)
The dishwasher exploded last night (we hope we figured it out)
So.....fun fun pictures will be blogged hopefully in the next day or two.....that is if I can find the right box!

Where did the year go?

Porter Thomas
Born February 29, 2008

As a mom, it's hard to see that first year be done.  It's sad to see it happen, but at the same time, so fun to see my Porter grow up.  Although Porter is my third boy, he is my first cuddler, my first spit up baby, my biggest baby.  I have loved watching all of the fun "firsts" this past year.  Porter adores his brothers.  I love you PorPor.  Although you are not a baby anymore, you will always be my baby!

Now that I am one...

I can be sooooooo cute!!!
but....I can get into a lot of trouble!
I can concentrate really hard!
I tend to hang on mom and dad's legs until they pick me up!
Did you notice my first "buzz" haircut?  Can you hear my mom sniffling in the background?  She hated to see my fuzzy baby hair go! Mom, please, I am a big boy!
Did I mention I can be VERY fussy if I don't get what I want???

Look how cute I am....why don't they always give me what I want??? Grandpa and Grandma would! It can be really hard being one!

Porter turns one!

Yeah....everyone I am one!!!
But, as my cake pointed out....I am really just .25!!!
I enjoyed smashing/eating my own little cake!
I had fun playing with the wrapping paper!  I got my first trike that mom can push me on when we go to the park this summer!
Grandpa and Grandma Matthews were here to enjoy in the birthday celebration!  Thanks for coming to visit guys!  We love you!

Happy Birthday Porter!!!
